The paper presents a characterization of the main macroeconomic aggregates, which in the analysis can become both exogenous and endogenous variables at macroeconomic level. The authors' wish was to investigate the associations and correlations of macroeconomic indicators, and whether these causal relationships exist, to what extent econometric models are used in macroeconomic policies and strategies.
