The article “Europe – a pre-eminent tourism destination in international tourism” evaluates why Europe continues to dominate world tourism. It highlights the major patterns of tourism demand in Europe and appreciates the role of the European Union and the Euro in tourism organization and development. It also recognizes the major geographical influences on the distribution of tourism resources and attractions in Europe. Within the article there is given the analysis of the role of improvements in transportation infrastructure in encouraging a freer movement of tourists throughout Europe.
