The various crises and their effects in the modern world, in fact, overturned several theories and determined new economic and social problems. In response to these crises, the challenges determined the conceptual and functional aspect of financial mechanisms. In the evolution of national economies, there are frequent situations when internal resources are not sufficient to meet the needs. In the international financial practices, the foreign loans, expressed in value form, at their turn generate the external debt phenomenon. In the present study, we have the purpose to analyze the evolution of the external debt of the Republic of Moldova and to highlight the outlined trends, in the current situation.
