dc.descriptionThe cattle breeding in the Republic of Moldova is a representative branch of animal husbandry not only in terms of production but also of the herd. Cutting drastically from about 1 million heads in 1990 to 191,000 heads in 2017 has generated a number of problems in the development of the sub-branch. At present, efforts are being made by the authorities to make this work more efficient by applying advanced technologies and innovative products, yet its development remains insufficient. Few of the entrepreneurs are venturing into cattle breeding, but fewer in cattle farming. The reasons are different, but the greatest is the need for major investments in creating the technical-material basis of the farm. The aim of the paper is to identify solutions for increasing the efficiency of cattle breeding sub-ranges for livestock and overtaking problems. The elaboration of this study used the monographic method, the grouping method, the situation analysis and forecasting method. As a result of the papers, it was determined that most of the cattle population is registered in territorial units, most of them being in the districts around Chisinau. JEL: Q12
