The article highlights the importance of time management for the success of projects and organizations, respectively. Through the comparative approach it is demonstrated that time is one of the key elements of several modern project management methodologies. We consider that time management represents the set of processes that ensure delivery of the project deliverables in the planned terms. Respecting of time values is also determined by the content of processes in the time management projects, which evolved according to the evolution of managerial thinking and experience, but also in accordance with the requirements of companies and the business environment. The analysis of the evolution of the content of the project management time is presented by the comparative-evolutionary analysis of this topic in more advanced editions of Project Management Body of Knowledge. The paper presents the processes that make up the time management proposed in PMBOK's last edition and the author support the opinion that they contribute systematically to the programming of the project activities, their monitoring and updating. The analysis of processes in project time management has allowed the generalization of some ways of project schedule improvement. Finally, there are exposed some software products for project management which are known and used internationally. JEL: M10, O21, O22.
