The problem of using alternative energy sources has been and remains very current both nationally and internationally, especially in the context of depletion of oil reserves, pollution generated by its use, but also the phenomenon of global warming. The importance of this research results from the need to use alternative energy sources and capitalize on them in a country dependent on energy imports such as the Republic of Moldova. The objectives of the research are to analyze the current situation in the field of capitalization of renewable energy sources, to identify the challenges facing this sector and to highlight the opportunities offered by the European Union available in the Republic of Moldova in this field.
