The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted organizations and caused human resources managers to think differently about their role as they adjust to social distancing practices and a new work environment that they may take the poll ever have imagined. Benefits are a crucial and expensive part of an employee’s compensation package. The value that employees are now placing on their workplace benefits is similar to the value that employers are now placing on their ability to operate virtually. In this article we want to focus on the situations on which employees are going through during the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 is forcing people around the world to live and work in radically different ways. Shopping frenzies, barren shelves, shuttered restaurants, empty streets, whiplashing markets, rising case counts—this is the new reality for the near future. JEL: M41
