dc.descriptionInnovation in payment system can have a significant impact on the economy as it targets major economic sectors. Payments are made and received from individuals and legal entities, financial resources being transferred between different companies, banks and countries. Thus, payment methods become an effective tool for promoting banking services, financial inclusion and the modernization of the national payment system. Innovation of payment systems can contribute to higher levels of efficiency, safety and transparency of banks. The aim of the research is to highlight the characteristics and trends of the development of the payment system in the Republic of Moldova. In this respect, the following research methods were used: analysis and synthesis, comparison, induction and deduction. JEL: G20, O32.
