Throughout history, commercial exchanges developed in a medium characterized by harsh economic times, which in result created a barrier in the normal way of carrying activities between economic agents. Overcoming these shortfalls determined innovation of new techniques for commercial operations, new means of purchasing money equivalents offered the possibility to ease the process of economic activities. Recent Data shows that factoring is also present in Moldova, representing an easy method, which entities can use to obtain funding in a quicker way. Proof of this being the use of factoring by companies involved in international trading as well as apparition of factoring companies. However, the gap between Moldova and EU Countries is still enormous. According to the data published by the FCI Marketing Committee in their annual statistical book for 2016 Moldova recorded a turnover of 17 mil. Euro for 2015 including a turnover of 10 mil Euro for factoring inside the country. Simultaneously in 2014 in Moldova 13 new factoring companies were opened, while in 2015 this number reaching 17 companies, representing an increase of 31%. Even though factoring didn`t yet reach its juridical maturity, it fully meets the requirements of modern trade. Existence of Chapter III ,,Cession of debt and assumption” and Chapter XXV ,Factoring” in the Civil Code, which regulate the factoring contract, is already an advantage in using this type of credit.
